PRINCESS, THE VERY HYPER GUINEA PIG
I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING QUITE LIKE OUR LITTLE BLACK GUINEA PIG, PRINCESS. SHE RUNS LAPS AROUND OUR HUGE CAGE AND AROUND THE PLAY PEN. AFTER DOING LAPS FOR A LITTLE WHILE, SHE STARTS DOING FIGURE 8'S IN THE CAGE! IT IS THE FUNNIEST THING TO WATCH. SHE IS ALSO VERY VOCAL AND WEEKS LOUDER THAN THE OTHER TWO GUINEA PIGS. MY KIDS HAVE NICKNAMED HER THE ADHD PIGGIE!IF YOU MIMICK PURRING SHE DOES THE SAME! HOW FUNNY!!

KAYTEE SOFT SORBENT
I HAVE TWO CAGES FOR MY THREE LITTLE PIGGIES! I LOVE MY PIGGIES SO MUCH AND I WANT THEM TO STAY HAPPY AND HEALTHY. I ALSO LIKE MY PIGGIES TO SMELL SWEET AND CUDDLY WHEN I PLAY WITH THEM.
RIGHT AFTER I GOT CASSANDRA, OUR FIRST GUINEA PIG, I WAS USING WOOD SHAVINGS, I THOUGHT THAT WOULD DO THE TRICK. YUCK, YUCK, YUCK! IT WAS SOGGY, WET AND STINKY!!!! I STARTED EXPERIMENTING WITH BEDDING. I HAVE DISCOVERED THAT PETCO HAS A PAPER BEDDING THAT HAS BAKING SODA, ALSO CAREFRESH ADVANCED ODOR CONTROL. THESE ARE THE ONLY TWO BEDDINGS THAT I WOULD USE AND RECOMMEND TO NEW SMALL PET OWNERS. I ALSO MIX THE BEDDING WITH KAYTEE SOFT SORBENT, I STARTED BY TRYING THE LAVENDAR, IT IS SO REFRESHING AND MAKES THE LITTLE PIGGIES SMELL SO FRESH. I LOVE IT! KAYTEE SOFT SORBENT ALSO COMES IN A MINT SCENT AND ROSE SCENT. THE ROSE SCENT IS VERY LIGHT AND YOU MIGHT AS WELL NOT USE ANYTHING. THE MINT SMELLS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE WHEN IT IS TIME TO CLEAN THE CAGE YOU ALMOST GAG. KAYTEE NEEDS TO ONLY MAKE THE LAVENDAR IN THE SOFT SORBENT BEDDING. THAT IS THE ONLY ONE WORTH BUYING AND USING. THE PIGGIES ARE CLEAN, FRESH AND HAPPY! OH AND YES THEY SMELL GREAT TOO!

GUINEA PIGS AND THE PLAY PEN!
I RECENTLY PURCHASED A PLAY PEN THAT IS ABOUT AN 8 FOOT CIRCLE IN DIAMETER. THEY ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! ALL THREE OF OUR LITTLE GUINEA PIGS ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. THEY RUN PLAY AND JUMP LIKE LITTLE KIDS. IT IS SO COMICAL TO WATCH THEM. I USUALLY PUT A LITTLE BIT OF BEDDING AND SOME TIMOTHY HAY DOWN, SO THAT THEY FEEL RIGHT AT HOME. THEN I PLACE THEIR WATER BOTTLE AND THEN GIVE THEM THE IGLOOS AND TUNNELS SO THAT THEY CAN RUN AND HIDE. OUR BABY GUINEA PIG, PRINCESS RUNS LAPS AROUND AND AROUND AS FAST AS SHE CAN, SHE LOOKS LIKE SHE IS TRYING TO RUN A RACE! IT IS HILARIOUS TO WATCH! THEY ARE SO ENTERTAINING AND FUN TO SEE WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO!

Basic Care of a Guinea Pig
I love all three of our guinea pigs. They are so cute and so much fun!!They each have unique personalities. I had to put the oldest of our three in a cage by herself, because she kept bullying the younger two piggies. The two younger piggies are very much alike. They both love to play, the youngest, is very vocal! She squeaks with excitement whenever she sees you or if she hears a bag rattle!
I am going to list some basic care tips for guinea pigs. You need to make sure that you have a big enough cage so that they can run around, and get some exercise (not that they are going to run but to give them space to move around).I start with a big cage, cage liners, and bedding. I choose the Carefresh Ultra Bedding with baking soda, Petco also has a bedding with baking soda that works just as well. The baking soda REALLY does help to cut down on any odors. I also mix the carefresh bedding with just a little bit of Kaytee Soft Sorbent Lavender bedding. It is AMAZING!The piggies smell so fresh! I used to buy hay from Petco, but, I now buy Timothy hay in 10 lb boxes from Farmer Dave's Hay on Ebay, it is fresh from the farm and smells great! The piggies absolutely love it! I put a light layer of hay over the bedding and then I have a hay "dispenser" that I fill, because they love to munch the timothy hay all day long. I have also discovered that they crave and love salt. Wal Mart (and any pet store) sells salt wheels to attach to thier cage. I have a HUGE water bottle for each cage, even though they aren't very big, they drink lots! The food I stick with is Kaytee Guinea Pig Food that has vitamin C in the food. The guinea pigs need to have vitamin c. They LOVE apples, when you dice up fresh apples they popcorn and jump for joy! I also give them fresh veggies several times a week. They have chew sticks that they use to keep thier teeth trimmed down.I also have a couple of tunnels and an igloo because they are very shy and they like to hide out. I trim thier nails with our kitten nail trimmer and then file them, they really don't like this very much but if you are quick, it isn't too bad. These are what I do to keep our cute little piggies happy and healthy.

Guinea pigs don't like to ride on the golf cart!
How bored do you think you have to be, to take the guinea pigs on a golf cart ride? Well, that is exactly what I did today! LOL!
I started by taking Brooke, our long haired guinea pig outside, she did not like the breeze or the noise of the traffic on the highway. It really seemed to scare her, so she kept jumping back up onto my lap and biting on the edge of my shorts to tell me she wanted to go back to her cage. I took her on a short ride around our three acre yard. I was holding her up against me. She hated it, she was chatting her teeth and biting at my shoulder. Poor thing, I took her back inside and calmed her down. Next, I took Cassandra outside. Cassandra loves being outside, she lifts her little nose in the air and takes in the breeze and sunshine! She wanted to go in the garage with my husband, but if she went in there, I would probably never find her again! I took her on a ride around the yard. I started out holding her against me, she scooted her way up my shoulder, and stayed up on my shoulder (I was still holding her) until I stopped the golf cart. She didn't want to go back inside! Finally, I took the baby outside, she was shaking and scared. I picked her up and held her close. I drove the golf cart slowly through the yard. She didn't seem to mind, although she was hiding under my arm! The next time I take them out, I will have to video tape the guinea pigs on golf carts! Maybe they will be famous some day!

G Force the movie
I took my daughter to see the highly publicized Disney movie, G- Force 3D. Since we own three guinea pigs, we were all so excited to see this movie. The movie was not very crowded, i was surprised.
I was expecting this spectacular funny movie. It was ok, but not as great as I had hoped. It started as the guinea pigs have to perform the unexpected and obtain highly secret information regarding a program or they will be shut down. They communicate with a fly named Mooch that is eating all of the cakes and sweets at this party, Darwin, goes in along with Blaster and agent Juarez communicating on the outside. There is a mole also working with them, the mole sort of grossed me out, it was ugly and creepy. Well after they downloaded the secret file information, the mole supposedly downloads it, only to not have the right file. They are shut down and end up in a pet shop. It went on to the guinea pigs saving the day after all of these home appliances "come to life"
I thought it was advertised so much, the movie should have been better than what it was.
